Graham Keene

My fascination with model aircraft spans almost 40 years. I have tried free-flight, chuck gliders, rubber powered and radio control, but have always come back to control line.

I would classify myself as a “Sport” flier, although one day I would like to fly a half decent “pattern”. My preference is for building rather than flying, an ever growing collection of “built” but unfinished models is testament to this fact. I find there’s nothing more therapeutic than transforming a stack of wood into a beautiful scratch built model.

I have one published plan to my credit, an all-sheet .049 delta model, featured in Aviation Modeller International August 1998. This model evolved as part of a school project and was reasonably successful, it certainly paid well.

I have also had an interest in motorcycling since obtaining my first bike at 18. Having owned numerous bikes, the standouts would be a 1972 XS650 Yamaha and the first of three Moto Guzzi’s, a 1975 850T. Recently, the purchase of a Mazda MX5 now sees me on 4 wheels – (something about, “midlife crisis”).

Work-wise, I am a Primary Data Collector for an electricity Distributor, a vital job which impacts directly on revenue generation and viability of the business as a whole……alright then, Meter Reader; a job I would not trade for anything else.
I have “served” over 30 years of marriage, (only joking Dear) and have 3 children, unfortunately none share my passion for “toy” planes; their loss.
My involvement with like-minded enthusiasts is extremely satisfying and I am proud to be associated with a great bunch of people who call themselves C.L.A.G.
